Hospitalized

The day after I came home from a trip away and picked Nemo up from the birdsitter's house, he plucked most of his feathers out. He did it all in just a few hours.

A vet visit and some bloodwork later showed that his kidneys are damaged and not functioning properly. He is to remain at the clinic to be treated for 5 days -- tomorrow is day 4.

I hear he is doing really well and responding to treatment. Fingers crossed that the damage can be reversed and I can bring my little blue man home soon...healthy.

I got around to weighing Nemo tonight. He's a big whooping 32 grams!

Finally, his new cage arrived this week and we picked it up today.

Bedtime Snuggles

This is our nightly routine just before I put Nemo to sleep in his sleeping cage. Speaking of his sleeping cage, it's in our spare bedroom. Yes, he has one whole bedroom to himself so he can get super silent dark shut-eye for 12 hours.

Right after this, he proceeded to run and try to chomp down on my poor camera. Good thing it can take quite a bit of abuse. Bad Nemo!

Shoulder Perching

From a bird's point of view, a nap can't get any more comfortable than stealing body heat from a hooman while hiding in her hair.

Especially long hair.
